about
I design
the product.
I’m Rebecca, the product designer behind Cyberhive. I’ve taken an unconventional route through business, technology and design — and that mix now shapes how I turn complex product problems into clear, usable experiences.

Cyberhive is an independent product design studio led by me, Rebecca Wood — combining senior hands-on design with a trusted network of specialists when a project needs more.
I work across product strategy, UX and UI, helping teams turn complex ideas, workflows and systems into products people can actually understand and use. My work spans AI, SaaS, EdTech, marketplaces and industrial technology — from early product definition and research through UX, design systems and shipped experiences.
I didn't take the traditional route into product design. My background spans international management and leadership, technology, frontend development and design. That means I naturally look beyond the interface — at the business, the user journey, the data, the technical reality and what the team is ultimately trying to achieve.
Knowing how products are built has fundamentally shaped how I design them. I can move between users, engineers and stakeholders, challenge assumptions early and understand what happens after a design leaves Figma. AI has become part of that toolkit too — helping me explore, prototype and validate ideas faster, while also designing products where AI itself becomes part of the experience.
I care about beautiful interfaces, but I'm much more interested in whether the product behind them makes sense — and whether we can actually ship it.
I work directly with founders and product teams, either embedded alongside an existing team or owning a defined product challenge end-to-end. When a project calls for development or additional specialist expertise, I bring in people I know and trust.
philosophy
How i think.
Strategy before screens
Before designing an interface, I want to understand what we're solving, for whom and why it matters. Business goals, user needs and technical realities shape the direction first. The UI comes after — and should make that thinking feel obvious.
Complexity should feel simple
Great products can be incredibly complex underneath without asking users to carry that complexity. I look for the right hierarchy, progressive layers and interactions so people see what they need, when they need it — without removing the depth the product requires.
Design is a team sport
The strongest products aren't created in a design silo. I work closely with product, engineering, stakeholders and users throughout the process — challenging assumptions early, testing ideas and shaping solutions together rather than handing over finished screens. I actually prefer these three over “Design systems over one-offs” for this section. Design systems are a capability; “Complexity should feel simple” is a philosophy and reinforces the entire Cyberhive positioning.
